All parts of you are welcome here
Trauma Therapist & Somatic Practitioner in Santa Fe, NM
Hi, I'm Farah
I’m a licensed clinical social worker and trauma therapist based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, offering sessions both in person and online across the state. I help people move past old patterns that keep them stuck, so they can live with more trust in themselves, clarity, and ease.
My approach is body-centered and collaborative. Real change happens when the body feels safe enough to let go. In our work together, that might mean slowing down a conversation to notice what’s happening inside you, or paying attention to sensations and emotions as they arise.
Some people come for focused, short-term support. Others choose to go deeper and explore longer-term healing. However you arrive, we move at a pace that feels right and focus on what’s most meaningful for you.
Many of my clients are high-functioning people who seem fine on the outside, successful and capable, but privately feel anxious, disconnected, or unsure of themselves. If that sounds familiar, you are in the right place.
You might be here because:
- Stress or anxiety feels overwhelming
- You tend to repeat the same cycles in relationships or at work
- You feel like you should be doing fine, but inside it’s a different story
- You want real change that lasts
My Journey
Before becoming a therapist, I studied Economics and Social Policy. I have always been curious about how systems, both internal and external, shape who we become. That curiosity eventually led me to therapy, where I saw how powerful it can be to reconnect with the body as part of healing.
I did not always believe therapy could help. It took finding the right fit and experiencing real change for me to understand what was possible. That experience now guides how I work. My goal is to create a space where all parts of you are welcome and where change happens from the inside out.
If you are looking for a place to feel more grounded, clear, and connected, you are in the right place
Are we a good fit?
You will find me collaborative and engaged. I do not just listen. I help you notice patterns and emotions that may be hard to see on your own. I am transparent, compassionate, and direct when it is helpful. I aim to offer both support and challenge so you feel understood and encouraged to grow.
Some clients want to stop people-pleasing. Others want to understand why they withdraw in conflict or why certain patterns keep repeating. Some simply sense that something is not right but cannot name it yet. Wherever you are, we can explore it together and find what is ready to shift.
How I work
A body based approach to therapy
You may have tried talk therapy before and found it helpful, but sometimes words alone do not reach the deeper patterns that keep you stuck. Stress and trauma often live in the body as much as in the mind.
I use methods that include the body and nervous system in the process, helping change take root in a lasting way. Together, we work gently to restore safety, connection, and a sense of calm.
Modalities I use most often
Somatic experiencing
Helps your body release stress and find a steadier rhythm after overwhelming experiences
Coherence therapy
Helps you understand why specific patterns keep repeating in your life and helps transform them
Inner relationship focusing
Teaches you to meet different parts of yourself with compassion, so you feel more whole and at peace
I also integrate Deep Brain Reorienting (a gentle trauma treatment), AEDP (a relational approach to working with emotions), and Mentalization-Based Therapy (strengthening awareness of your own inner world and how you relate to others), each supporting different aspects of emotional healing and self-understanding.
The frameworks that guide my work
Interpersonal Neurobiology: looks at how your brain, body, and relationships shape one another.
Memory Reconsolidation: a natural process that allows painful memories and beliefs to be transformed so they no longer hold you back.
Why this matters
When therapy includes both mind and body, it becomes more than conversation. It becomes a process of gently reshaping how you relate to yourself and others. Clients often share that they feel calmer, make clearer decisions, sleep more deeply, and move through life with steadier confidence.
You do not have to carry everything on your own.
Support is here when you are ready.
You don’t have to carry it all alone, support is here when you’re ready
Where can you find me?
